Aviation Quality & Safety Management: Implementation of a report module

May 2009
The integrated Quality Safety Monitoring Suite CIRES has been productive since the beginning of June. It comprises CityLine’s cockpit, cabin, catering and safety reporting.

It consists of an intranet application for back office, flight safety and the flight terminal’s technical departments, components for the cabin user and an offline client for the pilot’s workpad.

The module focuses firstly on an e-mail-supported open workflow between CityLine’s reporters and (technical) departments, and secondly on the categorization and analytical capacity of the reports. In this context, the reports serve as the basis for actions which can be assigned to the technical departments and the performance of which can be assessed. For this, the technical departments draw directly on their reports in the system. The evaluation of reports is based on report categories, in the case of reports relevant to safety also on a risk matrix and further descriptors. The integrated selection tool can then be used to perform trend analyses and detailed assessments based on this data.
