Aviation Quality & Safety Management: Implementation of a safety module

Deutsche Lufthansa has put the Quality & Safety Management Suite’s safety module (A:QSM) into operation. This module focuses on the enhancement, tracking and risk assessment of safety reports.

Along with risk and damage assessment, the reports are classified in various directions with the assistance of descriptors and categories. These classifications are then analyzed further by means of a selection tool and a trend evaluation.

In order to improve the data quality, the flight data is validated on the basis of the operational leg.

Moreover, a fine-grained role concept facilitates access control at report level. The system itself is operated under the highest security conditions. These cover all aspects of hardware security via database encryption, authentication with security tokens and encrypted communication with the browser.
