Aviation Quality & Safety Management: Investigation module
Deutsche Lufthansa has put the Quality & Safety Management Suite’s investigation module (A:QSM) into pilot operation.
It supports all phases of an investigation from fact finding via analysis to summarization. The structured AII (Accident Incident Investigation) master data is recorded in an extension of the A:QSM safety module. This facilitates trend analyses and status tracking via the selection tool. The workflow for case input is located in the safety module.
The actual fact finding, analysis and formal processing of the investigations then take place in the Wiki-based investigation module. The AII master data is then forwarded automatically via the A:QSM data bus.
The Wiki base is ideally suited for work with heterogeneous data such as images, texts, documents and forms. This is because it offers structured access to all data by means of a tree, keywords and full-text searches without any strict formal structure restricting the investigators’ working methods.
In this context, the Wiki module was enhanced by adding major functions for the investigations, such as role assignment, task distribution, standard tasks and above all template management.
The module is structured as a web application focusing on data security and the associated workflow logic and access layer.
